Manufacturing (Production)

Goal

Produce finished goods from component recipes: define work centers and routings, version bills of materials (BOMs), then release work orders that issue materials to WIP and receive output into stock.

Who it is for

Production planner / shop-floor clerk with manufacturing.view (browse), manufacturing.manage (masters + WO create/release/cancel), manufacturing.produce (issue materials, apply operations, complete), manufacturing.plan (material planning), or manufacturing.admin (Manufacturing setup).

Module and navigation

  • Tenant module key: manufacturing (optional entitlement).
  • Main nav section label: Production (not “Manufacturing”).
  • Screens: Bills of materials, Work orders, Work centers, Routings, Material planning.
  • Manufacturing setup (policies and catalogs) lives under Tax & Statutory in the nav tree; permission manufacturing.admin.

Typical flow

  1. Create work centers (labor / overhead rates).
  2. Build routings (operation sequence + times).
  3. Create a BOM for the produced item (components, scrap %, optional routing) → Activate.
  4. Create a work order (active BOM + warehouse + qty) → ReleaseIssue all / apply operations → Complete (finished goods receipt + variance).
